Tuesday 5/29

Good morning.  I hope you had a restful vacation.  Here is today's prompt.  Remember this week is the last of freewrites.  You will begin reading over you material to bring one of the pages of writing to a final draft. Most likely you will change it  dramatically from the form it is currently. Your draft must include the work in its roughest form (WN) to the next rough draft that has a minimum of two peoples honest and thorough critique and revision suggestions to at least one more draft that is typed and finalized.

Thursday 5/24

I hope you guys were able to write for the period.  IT was a true free write as I was unable to post this at school and it seems you were not able to get on!
If you are trying to make up work here is a prompt to get you going.

Wednesday 5/23

Today's prompt is to write abut the paranormal.  Imagine a dead relative returns to speak with you.  WHat would he or she say to you?  How would you react?

Tuesday 5/22

Today’s prompt requires you to read the poem below then write off that poem.  Choose something   in the room to look closely at and describe in detail using all five senses in your descrption.

Look Closely - Polina Barskova

Look closely
Look slowly
Hold your breath and look
Look at pain cold dark shame
child mother beast spider web
be precise
be mercilessly precise
Let them freeze in you like an ant freezes in amber
and then look again and close your eyes

5/18

Today in class you will again free write.  Here is today's prompt.  Reminder you will be receiving a daily grade of 10 points based on the free writing you do.  I will assess this by collecting your writer's notebook.  You will also receive weekly rubric grades and will bring one of your works to a final draft for a final major grade in the course so do not get behind on your daily writing.  The expectation is no less than one page per class period.  Have fun with your writing.  Let it take you away!  Enjoy the weekend--Mrs. C

Hey Teagan,
We hope you made it to Florida safely.  You missed some great poetry today!  We will start with the writing prompts in class tomorrow so keep on checking.  The plan is to write in your writer's notebook until the end of May then bring one of the prompts to a final draft for a final grade in the course and of course to have fun writing!
